Call the Hotline

“Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, The Lord that formed it, to
establish it; the Lord is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and
shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:2,3
KJV)
I took a nap this afternoon and I had a terrible dream. In the dream, I was with
someone and he just left me. I didn’t have to worry about getting home because I
didn’t have a home. I must have really been fighting to come out of that awful
dream because when I finally did wake up, the sheets and bedspread were really
messed up.
I used to have this same dream several nights a week before I was saved and when
I woke up, I was still frightened. There is a difference now because I confessed
my sins to Jesus, asked Him to forgive me and come into my heart and be my
personal Saviour on August 14, 1980. Now, I no longer have to be petrified of
this dream because I have a home in Heaven with Jesus for all eternity. There is
nobody or nothing that can take it from me.
If you have any doubts at all about being saved, then you need to fall as fast
as you can on your knees, not only physically, but also in your heart and call
the Hotline to Jesus. It doesn’t matter if you have preached for fifty years,
taught Sunday School for thirty years, sang in the choir, given thousands of
dollars to charities and to the poor, unless you have made a personal commitment
to the Christ of Calvary, you are lost in your sins and you will spend eternity
without Jesus.
I urge you; I plead with you, search your heart right this minute and be sure
that you have given your heart to Jesus. This is an emergency! He could come
back for us even as you read this devotional. Are you ready to meet Him? Will
you be able to look Him in the eyes, or will you have to look away in shame?
Will He say to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant”? Does He have first
place in your life? Do you spend more time with Him than you do with your family
and friends? If not, you not only are putting them before Him, you are breaking
the heart of our precious Saviour.
