Glimpses of God
Last Days

Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel?
Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! And it
shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall
be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the
hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
Jesus sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to
be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. And this is the
Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should
lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son,
and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the
last day. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:
and I will raise him up at the last day. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my
blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my
Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your
young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: This know
also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the
fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom
he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being
the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding
all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat
down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than
the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have
I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a
Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith,
And let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels he saith, Who
maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of
righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and
hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of
gladness above thy fellows.
And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the
heavens are the works of thine hands: Who verily was foreordained before the
foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, I was in
the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a
trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou
seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia;
unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto
Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon
me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: And unto the angel of
the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was
dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and
thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. I am Alpha
and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
