Sing
When God's choir is on the front line of spiritual battlefields,
God wins the battle ... on the front line.
II Chronicles 20:21-22
When Jehoshaphat had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the
Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the
army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. And they
sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord; because he
is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people
shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation
of the house of the Lord was laid.
Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of
his holiness. Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an
instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud
noise.
Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For
God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. The
pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn;
they shout for joy, they also sing. Sing forth the honour of his name: make his
praise glorious.
All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to
thy name. Selah. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt
judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens
by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the
earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah.
O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our
salvation. O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and
rejoice, and sing praise.
Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. Serve
the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Sing unto him,
sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Praise the Lord; for
the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the
Lord. They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall
sing of thy righteousness. Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises
unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. Sing unto the Lord with
thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Praise ye the Lord. Sing
unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the
timbrel and harp. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon
their beds. Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known
in all the earth.
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing. They
shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they
shall cry aloud from the sea.
Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and
gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of
the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel.
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert
shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice
even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the
excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the
excellency of our God. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue
of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in
the desert. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with
songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness,
and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that
go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants
thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the
villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them
shout from the top of the mountains.
Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the
earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein:
for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing
declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The Lord
hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O
mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his
afflicted. For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste
places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the
garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and
the voice of melody.
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto
Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness
and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. Thy watchmen shall lift up the
voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye,
when the Lord shall bring again Zion.
Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord
hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. For ye shall go out with
joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth
before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief
of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save thy people, the
remnant of Israel. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and
shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and
for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be
as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon:
for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the Lord.
The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished,
and made very glorious in the midst of the seas. And I will give her her
vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall
sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out
of the land of Egypt.
Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the
heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;
he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he
will joy over thee with singing. Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo,
I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the
prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the
foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were
opened, and every one's bands were loosed. That ye may with one mind and one
mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
