Have you Counted the Cost

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also
forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your
Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6: 14, 15 KJV)
“That is the last straw. She has hurt me too many times and I will never forgive
her.” Has anyone ever said that to you? It has been said to me. The person who
said that to me has not stopped to count the cost. Because she has refused to
forgive me, God will not forgive her. Have you ever said that to someone or
thought it in your heart? You may have told them you forgive them, but you
haven’t forgiven them from your heart so you didn’t really forgive them. Is it
worth hanging on to the bitterness and resentment knowing that God will not
forgive you?
If you are constantly arguing with your spouse because he or she won’t do it
your way, you need to realize the price you will pay. There will be unhappiness
and turmoil in your home. If you yell at your children instead of talking to
them with respect just like you want them to talk to you, the cost to you will
be rebellious children and you will have a broken heart. We must count the cost
before we say things and take any actions.
If you have never accepted Jesus as your personal Saviour, you need to realize
that the price you will pay for rejecting Him is separation from Him for all
eternity. You will not go to Heaven to be with Him. The cost is far too great.
Swallow your pride, admit that you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you and
come into your heart to be your personal Saviour. It cost Jesus His life when He
took our sins on Him so that we can have forgiveness. Don’t keep hurting Him!
