I am giving up my Isaac

Many situations in life ask that we live a completely yielded life to Christ.
No matter how many times we tell ourselves that and even desire strongly to live
this submitted life, our actions seem to do their own bidding. Only when we
yield to God’s will completely, will we live victorious lives. It is only then
we will see the victory and fruit of obedience.
We say: "Lord, we love You!", and when trouble comes the same cry is: ‘Lord, why
did You allow me to go through this!’ The latter part is a sign of confession
with our mouths but not with our hearts. Abraham, our Father of faith, is much
like God the Father. He was prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice of a son.
Abraham took Isaac to the altar of sacrifice and when he laid him down, he never
questioned God, he was just prepared to obey. Considering the birth of Isaac was
a long awaited birth of promise and still Abraham did not flinch a moment of
doubt in God and his covenant.
The toughest part of letting God be in control is when He asks us to give Him
those people, things, relationships and treasures which we hold onto for dear
life. Abraham did not make Isaac an idol in his life because God was resident on
that throne. Today, is there anything or anyone in your life that has such a
tight tug on your heart that if you had to let them go, a huge dent will appear?
If the answer is "yes", then it is time to lay down your Isaac at the altar of
sacrifice.
Your thoughts are but how can you say something like that because my heart has
my children, my husband, my parents, siblings, dreams, finances, empires and
Jesus also lives there. Beloved, I am not asking you to stop loving them, but I
am asking you to realign them. If anyone or anything has a higher place in your
life than God, then you have to release them. It becomes an idol and you are
saying that I won’t be able to continue in life without them. Abraham probably
in his human self went through the same emotions as us but he did not let his
human side cut across God’s plans.
Because Christ lives, you can face tomorrow. When your heart has Jesus then it
can never be broken because he never breaks hearts. When your heart beats his
word and has his Holy Spirit, you will never be alone. Our lives must be
fashioned for eternity where we will reign as worshippers. Abraham only lived
the promise after he put his heart at the altar for sacrifice.
Put your Isaac down, lay your heart at the altar of sacrifice and step into
God’s covenant of blessing for this generation and every other that follows
through your lineage. At the end of all things know that you will always be the
victor.
Prayer Thought Dear Lord Jesus, I lay down every idol I have in my life at the
altar of sacrifice. I am realigning my heart and you have residence and priority
there. Thank you for making me the victor in all things. In Jesus name, I ask it
. Amen
