Angelo and the Master of Angels
Angelo Dundee is an American boxing corner
man. For the uninitiated, a corner man in boxing is one, who gives vital inputs
to his ward before and most importantly during the fight. Needless to say, those
strategic inputs based on keen observation of the opponent would often separate
the victor from the vanquished. Dundee has had unparalleled success training and
working in the corners of legendary boxers like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard
and George Foreman,. These champions have affirmed that his very presence in
their corner pepped them up.
Square up to this truth, pal! Christian life is one big fight. Worse…it is a
fight with unseen formidable foes (Eph 6:12)! Imagine being pitted with a
blindfold against a Tyson! But cheer up, even as we strive to take the Gospel to
all the corners of the World and in the process have to fight “big bad
dude”-Satan-we have someone far better equipped than Angelo the very the Master
of Angels …Christ in our corner Listen to the most successful evangelist of all
times…Apostle Paul
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me
through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the
Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to
Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, (to be
trained by Him personally)…for three years -Gal 1:17-18
Apostle Paul again after his training in Arabia and several successful conquests
for the Lord…
"For I can do everything ..." (including knocking out the Devil)
"...through Christ, who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)
"The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet…" (Romans 16:20)
Do not want to be cornered by the “ole enemy”? Then fight with
Angelo..opps sorry… I mean Master of Angels (Heb 1:4-6/Rev 22:9) in your corner!
Prayer: Father, we with our own power or wisdom are no match to the strength or
the wiles of our Enemy. Be with us, so that we can be victorious in our
spiritual fight with Thy empowering spirit alone. In Jesus Name. Amen.
