Who are You Following

“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” (1 Kings 18:21 KJV)

S. Sundar Singh wrote the song “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus”. I wonder if we can honestly sing the words of this song from our hearts. “I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus; No turning back, No turning back.”

Every one of us has to make this decision. No one else can do it for us. Just as salvation is a personal issue between us and Jesus, so the decision to follow Jesus or satan is also a personal issue. We have to decide who we are going to follow. We only have two choices. We are either following Jesus or we are following satan.

There are many people who are straddling the fence. They won’t make the decision because they might have to give up the friends they have now and make new friends. They know that they should follow Jesus but they are reluctant to stop going to places and doing things that they know they shouldn’t go to or do.

Who are you following? Are you following Jesus or are you following satan? Can you honestly say to Jesus “I will follow You and I will not turn back”? If you aren’t following Jesus, not only will you have an unhappy life, you are also hurting Him and breaking His heart. Will you decide to follow Jesus today?
