The Rising Of The Son

I would love to have been there

When Jesus rolled the stone away,

So I could thank Him for our precious gift

And for the sacrifice He made.

How I'd liked to have been there

When Mary saw the empty tomb.

Her heart must have leaped with joy,

After days of tears and gloom.

I'd loved to have seen the look

On each disciple's face

When Mary said, "My son has risen.

Come and see the empty place."

I wish I could have been there

When He ascended into the skies

As each of them cried tears of joy,

With no sadness in their eyes.

O' how I wished I could have witnessed

The glorious rising of the Son,

So I could have told the world

About the victory He had won.
