"By day the Lord went ahead of them in a
pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of
fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.
Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left
its place in front of the people."
Exodus 13:21-22
Many of God's people are praying for deliverance
out of certain situations.
God honors the prayers of His people.
As He persuaded Pharaoh to let His people go,
He led them not by the shorter route,
but by the longer route, the way of the desert,
considering that if they had met their enemies on the shorter route,
it may have discouraged them, and they may have changed their minds,
wishing to return to Egypt.
I wonder how many are on that longer
path today,
incognizant that they are on the pathway of deliverance?
God made
preparations for His people
to
be delivered out of Egypt, prior to their exodus.
He prepared
Moses and Aaron,
the
leaders, with self-confidence and mind renewal.
God has sent
those into our lives today,
who
are instrumental in leading us, as well.
We may not recognize
them,
for
who they are.
Events have begun already to take place for some,
but His people are complaining still,
unmindful of the new path He has made.
For some, He has sent the
pillar of cloud, in the day,
and the pillar of fire for the darkness,
but
they are still groping, unable to see.
Upon the pathway of
deliverance,
things will look absolutely hopeless.
We will often look in the
rearview mirror,
only
to see the enemy in hot pursuit.
But, as we keep our eyes focused
upon the enemy,
little do we know, that just ahead,
God has prepared to part the waters,
so
that we may go through safely!
I think, at this point of
deliverance,
are
many today.
God is ahead waiting with new direction,
and many are focused upon the enemy,
looking back, instead of straight ahead.
The pathway of
deliverance has been prepared,
and
God has ordered our footsteps.
He has prepared the way in the
light of His Word,
by the fire of the Holy Spirit.
This
is quite a combination, and with them, we cannot fail.
Instead of
murmuring and complaining,
we would do well to keep our focus upon the pathways,
straight ahead, and to thank Him for the people and all the events which have taken place,
to
where we are today.
God is leading us away from the Pharaohs of
yesterday,
into the Kingdom He has prepared for each of us. . .
Into the lands of promise,
which He swore to our forefathers, to give us.
Balking,
complaining will not get us there,
but
discernment, wisdom, and understanding surely will.
We need to
open our eyes,
Folks, and see the new things He is doing
and
the new direction He is pointing to.
Many have failed to
understand His new direction,
but now will be forced to take them,
due
to events which have taken place.
The Lord Almighty will lash
them with a whip,
as when He struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb;
and He will raise His staff over the waters,
as
He did in Egypt. Isaiah 10:26
We are a blessed generation and our
God is with us,
as
He always has been, with His people.
He is moving us into the new
things.
We
must be able to perceive it and give Him thanks.
God is busy
making all the plans.
We
shall soon see His hand of great power and Glory!
Praise our
Almighty God,
Ye,
His people!
