The Brightest Star

Long ago and far away,

In a town called Bethlehem,

A child was born; The King of Kings,

The Son of the Great I Am.

He grew up strong and carried on

The truth of His Father's will.

He taught inside the temples

From Mount Zion and upon Mars Hill.

He healed the sick, the blind and lame;

Working miracles in His Father's name.

People followed Jesus wherever He went

Because they knew that, from God, their Savior was sent.

The brightest star that ever was born

Was crucified, spit upon, rejected, and scorned.

With a crown of thorns the Romans placed on His head,

King of the Jews was what his sign had read.

He gave up His own life

To pay the price for our sins.

But, just three days later,

Jesus rose up again.

John 15:13

"Greater love hath no man than this, That a man lay down his life for his friends."
