My Prayer

To see the children grow in grace,

To look the whole world in the face,

To leave a path others can trace,

This is my prayer.

To feed the hungry, warm the cold,

To comfort the infirm and old.

To spend myself, but not for gold,

This is my prayer.

To succour those in deep distress,

To lead from failure to success,

For every wrong to seek redress,

This is my prayer.

To love the simple things of life,

To laugh, to sing, to banish strife,

To heed the wisdom that regulates,

To harmonise with associates:

To seek God's presence, know His nature,

To experience the loving that transcends rapture,

This is my prayer.
