“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22 ESV)
“For everything, there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV)
Well, it looks like Spring is leaving, and Summer is forcing its way in. I just saw it’s going to be close to 90 next week. Seasons are good. It’s not hot or cold all year.
We also have seasons with God. We have people in our lives for a season and some for a lifetime. Troubles come for a season, then are gone for a season. Some seasons seem to last forever while others come and go in a blink of the eye.
But while things here keep changing, whether for the good or bad, God never changes. He is always the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Change is good, though, for us. Change can mean growth. We all need to grow, especially in our walk with God.
The song, “Turn, Turn, Turn’ sung by the Byrds, says it all.
“To everything turn, turn, turn
There is a season turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under Heaven.”
I like the last verse,
“A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rain, a time of sow
A time for love, a time for hate A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late.”
It’s true. It’s not too late yet. While you are breathing, you still have time to turn to God.
This song is from the Bible. It’s in Ecclesiastes 3. Read it or sing it, whichever you want. But even though it is a rock song, I think. It tells it like it is. There is a season for everything.
So as you go through life, pay attention to the different seasons of it. You might just be surprised how many times God helped you through those seasons.
