Take us to the River
My dear friends,
Happy New Year to each and everyone of you! May the Lord bless you, and keep
watch over you. May the Lord cause the light of His face to shine brightly upon
you, and may He give you favor and grace. May the Lord lift up His face to you
and give you peace!
I had another mini-sermon all prepared to appear in this New Year's Eve edition
of the Answers2Prayer newsletter. But that was before the Holy Spirit convicted
me of something more important to this day and time!
You see, while worshipping together as a family this morning, my family all
requested what seemed to be unrelated songs, but the songs seemed to take on
prophetic messages of their own!
To set the stage, my younger son requested a song of rejoicing. This brought on
an intense moment of praise to God as we considered what He is at work doing
this very moment in the world.
Next, my husband requested a Hebrew song entitled: "Bo, Ruach Elohim" -- "Come,
Spirit of God". After the moment of intense praise and worship from the last
song, when we began to sing this song, the Holy Spirit fell upon us! We could do
nothing but worship!
So in awed was I by the strong presence of the Spirit of God, that when it was
my turn to choose, though I had had something else in mind earlier, the words
"Holy, Holy, Holy" ("Kadosh") flowed from my lips: Holy, holy holy, Oh Lord, our
God, Lord of hosts. Who was, and Who is, and Who is to come.
Then came Donovan's request: "Take us to the River", and this is when both Rob
and I were both given prophetic messages. The message God gave me was distinctly
for Answers2Prayer. In fact, the words of the song are prophetic for this
ministry for the year 2002. Please prayerfully contemplate the following words:
Take us to the River, Take us there in UNITY to sing, A song of Your Salvation,
To WIN THIS GENERATION FOR OUR KING! A song of Your forgiveness, For it is by
GRACE that the river flows! Take us to the River, in the City of our God!
For the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon us! This is the Year of the Lord!
Take us to the Throne Room, Give us ears to hear the cry of Heaven! For that cry
is Mercy, Mercy for the fallen sons of men, Mercy it has triumphed, Triumphed
over Judgment by Your blood, Take us to the throne room, in the City of our God!
For the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon us! This is the Year of the Lord!
Take us to the mountain! Lift us in the shadow of Your hand! Is this Your mighty
angel, Who stands astride the ocean and the Land! In His hand Your mercy,
Showers o'er a dry and barren place, Take us to the mountain, in the City of our
God!
For the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon us! This is the Year of the Lord!
In light of the news that Answers2Prayer will shortly be partnering with the
Canadian Bible Society, that we will have our own Bibles to distribute, and
especially with the advent of the new ministry, "The Altar Ministry", and our
goal for 1000 new Christians by the end of 2002 as a result of this ministry,
the words to this song are a prophetic call to all Answers2Prayer volunteers and
subscribers: Allow God to "Take us to the River", to "Take us there in UNITY to
sing a song of [God's] Salvation to win this GENERATION for our KING!" This is a
call to allow God to "Take us to [His] throne room and gives us ears to hear the
cry of Heaven, for that cry is mercy, mercy for the fallen sons of men!" And
this is a call to allow God to "Take us to the mountain (and) lift us in the
shadow of [His] hand!" To "see [His] mighty angel, who stands astride the ocean
and the land, for in His hand [God's] mercy showers o'er a dry and barren
place!" My friends, "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is (INDEED!!!) upon us!
This IS the year of the Lord!"
Wake up, my friends! Let us rise to the calling of our Lord to "sing a song of
[His] Salvation to win this generation for our King"! Let us unite together in
prayer that more and more of the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord may indeed be upon
us during this, our "year of the Lord"!
With New Year's Eve approaching, I would like to call each of you to spend some
time in meditation and prayer about the upcoming year and the goals of this,
YOUR ministry! I have chosen to do a 3 day-fast, to end on New Year's Eve, that
I may pray in earnest for the "expanded territory" of this ministry and that our
goal of 1000 souls for the Kingdom will not only be met, but doubled -- even
tripled! Remember Pentecost? 3000 souls were won for our Lord that one day. If
He can use one man (Peter) to bring 3000 souls into the fold in just ONE day, He
can certainly bring a simple 1000 to the fold through this ministry in one
year!!!
