Have you ever had the experience of having a door slammed shut on you? Have you ever tried to make something happen only to find that everything that could possibly go wrong; went wrong?
The Bible says that Jesus closes doors that no man can open. Rev 3:7 However, this same verse also tells us that the He also opens doors which no man can close. Friends, I don’t know about you but I want Him to open doors for me, which no one can ever close. How about you?
Q: How can we be assured that He will open our doors?
Jesus said, “I am the way (the Door), the truth and the life” John 14:6, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open, for everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matt 7:7,8
A: If we know the Way (the Door) then He resides in our heart, and if we seek Him in everything we do the door will always be opened to us when we knock.
Q: But how shall we knock?
“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matt 7:11 “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.” John 14:13
They gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith… Acts 14:27
A: Seek, Ask and Believe!!
Q: How can I make sure that all my doors are opened?
`He (Jesus) says, "I know what you do. Look, I have opened a door in front of you. No one can shut it. I know that you do not have much power. But you have obeyed my word and you have never said you did not believe in me." Rev 3:9
A: By obeying His word and by steadfast faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!
This is amazing news! You see; Jesus doesn’t want to shut the door on us, for He is the Door and we, by faith, walk with Him and through Him and He has promised to open the door that no one can shut, if we only obey his word and believe in Him.
Q: So… what about those closed doors?
Jesus says “Listen, I stand at the door and knock. If any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him. I will eat with him, and he will eat with me. He who wins will sit with me on my throne in heaven. I won too, and I sat down with my Father on his throne." Rev 3:20,21
A: Perhaps the door of your heart is not opened to Jesus or to His will for your life or you circumstance.
Dear friends, if you are experiencing a closed door in your life, could it be that you are not knocking by prayer and faith? Could it be that perhaps have you not sought the will of God in your life or in your specific circumstance? Could it be that you are not obeying His word? Could it be that your faith is weak? If this is you, why not make a fresh commitment to always seek the Lord’s will in your life? Why not rededicate yourself to prayer and reading the word of God. Why not choose to believe Gods word in spite of your circumstances and commit to knocking on that door until it opens!
Or, could it be that you do not know the Door? Could it be that perhaps you have not answered the knock upon the door of your heart and opened it to Jesus? If this is you, why not make a commitment to Jesus right now? Why not take this opportunity to guarantee that all your doors will be opened and never shut as Jesus has promised. If you have never given Jesus all of your heart and all of your life please consider doing so now.
