The Woman in Scarlet

“ . . . There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns . . ." (Rev. 17:3b) "The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.” (Rev. 17:16).

Here, in the 17th chapter of the book of Revelation, we find the portrait of a beast with seven heads and ten horns, proudly carrying a woman—a harlot—on its back. But then a strange thing happens! The horns of the beast turn on the harlot and devour her! In the end, the evil fruit that she had harbored became her demise!

Are you “sitting on a scarlet beast”? Are you allowing something—anything—to take priority in your life over Jesus? If so, beware! That self-same “pet” sin has the potential to keep you from your ultimate goal: Heaven! Those harbored evils can turn on you and “devour” you too!

Is there anything that you need to hand over to Jesus? Why not do it now, before it ends up being your demise? Think about it!

Love in Christ,

Lyn
