A Place of Security

“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.” (Deuteronomy 33:27 KJV)

If ever we needed a place of security, it is now. There is violence everywhere we go. What a comfort and reassurance it is to know that God is our refuge from the violence in the world and from the poisonous darts of satan. Pastor Elisha A. Hoffman wrote a beautiful hymn “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”.

These words that Pastor Hoffman wrote should bring comfort to our hearts. “Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.” Thank God for His everlasting arms of protection. We have a loving and compassionate Heavenly Father. He really cares about us.

Banks and stores can be broken into and money and goods can be stolen but nobody can take us out of the protective arms of God. When we invite Jesus into our hearts to be our personal Saviour, we become a member of the family of God and we are safe for all eternity in the protective arms of God.

Heavenly Father, You are such a loving, compassionate and tender Father. Thank You for being our refuge from the violence in the world and from the vicious attacks of satan. I love You so much, dear Father, and I appreciate all that You have done for me and all that You do for me every day. Amen.
