An Encouraging Hotline
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the
bones.” (Proverbs 16:24 KJV)
We need an encouraging hotline that is open twenty four hours a day. If we had
an encouraging hotline staffed by volunteers who love Jesus, we would not need a
crisis hotline. All of us need encouragement because satan hurls his vicious
poisonous darts of discouragement at everybody.
We read in our Scripture verse for today that not only are pleasant words as an
honeycomb, they are also sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. There have
been times that I have been discouraged and a member of my family who didn’t
know that I needed encouragement would call and encourage me.
Are you encouraging your family, your loved ones and your friends by your kind
loving words? Even more important, are you encouraging Jesus by the kind words
you say to Him? Every Christian should tell our precious Saviour that He is
loved many times during the day.
Heavenly Father, please don’t let us say anything to our families, to our loved
ones and to our friends that would hurt them and discourage them. May we always
say kind loving words to people and also to Jesus so He will know we love Him.
