It Was Love
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15: 13 KJV) It was love that kept Jesus on the cross for us. He could have come down from
the cross. All the nails and all the soldiers in the world couldn’t have kept
Jesus on the cross if He had wanted to come down from that cross. However, He
loves us so much that He willingly stayed on that cross of horror and torture
and died for our sins. He paid the debt for us that we could never have paid.
Every time they pounded a nail into his hands, I believe that He felt that nail
being pounded into His heart. It wasn’t the nails and the physical pain that
killed Jesus. |
