Two-Week Notice
What if God gave you a two-week notice? You have suddenly been notified that you only have two weeks left to complete your earthly mission. What would you do? How would you spend the time? … Would you worry about cutting your lawn? Raking your leaves? Painting your house? Would you vacuum or dust? (I've always said that dust is God's way of saying that everything settles down eventually anyway) Would you get a haircut? Shave your face (man) or your legs (woman)? Cut coupons? Save spare change - or would you tell the clerk at the convenient store to "keep the change"? Would you smile at your neighbor? A stranger? An enemy? Would you call a forgotten friend? Write a letter to a long-lost relative? Send a thank-you note to someone who made you smile within the past year? Would you invite a co-worker home for dinner? Drop off unused food at the local food pantry? Visit someone you don't know in the local nursing home? Would you shovel your neighbor's driveway? Walkway? Would you remember to say your prayers each night? Each morning? Would you thank God for the time you've had, the love you've shared, the friends and family you've kept along the way? Or would you
have regret that you only have two weeks left to do all of
the things that you could have been doing all along and
would you ask God for more time to do everything? Michele Starkey |
