How often do you find yourself depressed after a day's work? Sometimes our days seem to be filled with worthless activities, which seem to be of no value to anyone. Does anyone even notice what we are doing?

The answer is yes, there is someone who notices your every moves you make: Ps 34:18 "The LORD is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." NIV

If we start to realize that we are never alone and that God is really at our side in everything we do, our lives will become radically transformed. Wow! God cares for me! Not only did He send His son to save a wreck like me. He wants to have a personal relationship with me and will stand by my side, hoping to be recognized as my friend!

The apostle Paul realized this and encouraged all of us to do the following:

1 Cor 10:31 "So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God." AMP

With God at our side, we can't just go on living as if He does not exist. We can't go on just praising Him in a church service and then wave at Him and say "See you next week!". No way! When we start to realize that God is with us and in us, we can but only do all things to His glory!

Please notice that this text does not say "do spiritual things, or even church related activities to God's glory". No. It stresses to do "ALL" things to the honor and glory of God. Isn't this amazing?

How can we give God glory when we eat and drink? Let us have the apostle Paul explain how:

1 Cor 10:29-31 "But, except for these special cases, I'm not going to walk around on eggshells worrying about what small-minded people might say; I'm going to stride free and easy, knowing what our large-minded Master has already said. if I eat what is served to me, grateful to God for what is on the table, how can I worry about what someone will say? I thanked God for it and he blessed it! So eat your meals heartily, not worrying about what others say about you — you're eating to God's glory, after all, not to please them. As a matter of fact, do everything that way, heartily and freely to God's glory." (from THE MESSAGE: The Bible in Contemporary Language © 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson. All rights reserved.)

How can you give glory to God when you sweep the floor? By praising Him to give you the opportunity to have that floor sparkle to the glory of God (Our God is a God of order. Look at His universe!) and partake symbolically to what God has done in your life: forgiven your sins and clean you up inside out! Hallelujah!

How can you give glory to God at work? By working for God! Your boss may be your boss, but God, your friend is your top boss and you are working for Him, no matter where you may be working, may it be in a pizza parlor, in a hair dressing saloon, in an accounting firm or in a school. Col 3:23-24 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." NIV

If you work for God's glory you won't be tempted to wake up and drag your feet and say "Oh no! Another miserable day at work!". Instead you will be joining the millions of Christians in underdeveloped countries who praise the Lord to even have work that day! You are working for God, not only for men. If we work for God, shouldn't we enjoy the tasks that have been given to us, and the opportunities to bless others, customers and colleagues alike, no matter the mood they are in! Shouldn't we work to the best of our abilities if we are aware of these facts?

How can you give glory through a ministry? For many this seems easier to do, but the fact is that many join to be part of a ministry, only to drop out whenever they are faced with stress and various trials. The question we need to ask ourselves when we join any ministry is this: who are we going to give glory to? If we do everything to God's glory. we will stand firm in the storms of our life and double our praises and work for Him when the circumstances seem to be against us. Why? Because we know that this is true: Rom 8:31-32 "What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" NIV We will not tend to give up on God, but waiting expectantly for His blessings to be bestowed on us, like eager children on Christmas eve, expecting terrific treasures to be given to them! We will work even harder to the glory of God, knowing full well that God is for us, not against us.

When we apply giving glory to God in ALL things, the fruit of the Spirit will become a reality in our lives, as God is moving closer and closer to our heart and we are enjoying a personal relationship with Him.

Gal 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control." NIV

Every day you wake up you have a choice to make: who am I giving glory to today? You can decide to no one, and go through your daily ritual with dread and indifference. Life will seem quite boring to you! You can decide to give glory to yourself and show off all your abilities, only to discover sooner or later that you are a very lonely person. Or you can give glory to God and start enjoying God's company in everything you do. The choice is yours. Who are you giving glory to today? In His love,
