God's Construction

"By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth." (Psalms 33:6 KJV)

We have seen beautiful homes and tall business buildings and been impressed. When I was reading this verse this morning, I realized that God did not use His Hands to construct the world, He used the words of His mouth.

If we would ever fully grasp the impact of the cruel and critical words that we say to one another and the crippling devastation they bring to someone's heart, I don't think we would say them. One day, you and I are going to stand before God and give an account of every word that we have said and we will be judged according to what we have done to people.

We can tell someone that we are sorry and really mean it in our heart and they can forgive us, but the scars of those words will never fade away. I challenge all of us to ask Jesus to help us to be kind and loving to one another. Remember that when we are loving and compassionate to one another, it makes the Heart of Jesus happy.
