These Two

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22: 37-40 KJV)

Jesus has made it so easy for us to have a peaceful life while we are here, yet we make it so difficult. If we would do what He told us to do in these verses, there would be no crime. There would be no beating of children, of spouses, and the elderly. We could leave our doors unlocked at night like I have heard older people say they used to do when they were children.

Do you really love Jesus with all your heart, soul, and mind? Do you put Jesus first in everything you say and do? Do you love Him more than you love your family, friends, and loved ones? If we don’t love Jesus, we will never be able to love our family, friends, and loved ones like He wants us to love them.

We do not have that kind of love. All of us are born with a selfish nature, and it takes the Love of Jesus planted deep in our heart to be able to love others with His Love. He says we are to love our neighbours as we love ourselves.

We need to ask Jesus to help us love like He wants us to love. Do you love Jesus? Is He the most important Person in your life? Do you think about Him during the day, or is He just put on the shelf until you have time for Him?
