Your Life -- Dreary or Cheery?

In Proverbs, King Solomon tells us that “a happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones" (17:22 Amplified). We are also told that “anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad" (12:25, Amplified).

Are we among the many who are searching for peace today? It has been demonstrated many times that the world will not be serving it up to us. We need to sow it in the soil of our hearts and let it grow through the presence of Christ who dwells there. Does He dwell in our hearts? He will if we purge our hearts of bitterness, complaining and murmuring and allowing our thoughts to be “true, honest, pure, just, lovely, of good report.”

Once peace is established within each of us we can speak it on a large scale. Our gears run smoothly on the oil of human kindness. Complaining words cause the system to work against us.

Everyone has testings in their daily lives; however, when we purpose to have a joyful heart, those “dry bones” can come to life and our hearts will be filled with peace.

The Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He will begin the process of peace in our hearts when we earnestly seek it.

Blessings to you,

Esther
