A Day of Love

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3: 16 KJV)

Today is my birthday; I am sixty three years old and I am so thankful that I have another year to serve Jesus. My family came over yesterday to celebrate with me and we had angel food cake and vanilla ice cream with strawberries. The food was delicious, but having my family here was the real treat. I felt the love from my family for me.

Several years ago on August 14, 1980, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart to be my personal Saviour. That was the greatest day of my life; a day filled with love from the Saviour for me. If I didn’t have a spiritual birthday, I could live to be one hundred years old and still be lost in my sins, without Jesus and on my way to hell for eternity.

When I think of the Saviour of the world loving me, I am filled with awe and gratitude. Jesus, who hung on the cross for me, came to me when I couldn’t go to Him. He stretched His nail scarred hand down to me and lifted me up out of the garbage dump of my life, put His arms around me and hugged me close to His Heart. He has never let me go, not even for one second, since that day.

Do you have a spiritual birthday? Have you given your heart and life to the Christ of Calvary? Is Jesus living in your heart today? If not, don’t put it off! He could come back even as you read this devotional. Say yes to Jesus before it is too late! He Loves you so much and wants you to be happy and have a joyful and peaceful life.
