A Delicious Taste

“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (Psalm 34: 7, 8 KJV)

I made a cucumber salad last week and as I raised the fork to eat it, I could taste it even before I swallowed it. I knew it was going to be delicious because I have had cucumber salads before. Jesus is asking us to taste of His Love and kindness and see that He is good.

Sometimes I am reluctant to try something that I’ve never ate before. Someone said to me one time when we were at a restaurant, “How do you know you don’t like it? You’ve never tasted it”. O dear people, I’ve tasted the Love of Jesus and He satisfies the innermost longings in my heart. He seasons my heart with kindness, understanding, compassion, tenderness, patience and forgiveness.

You will never know real joy, peace and happiness until you have tasted the Love of Jesus. The world and all of its material possessions can’t satisfy us when we are hurting and desperately need to know that someone cares and understands. We need each other and the person who says that he or she doesn’t need anyone is deceiving himself or herself.

Have you tasted the Love of Jesus? Has His atoning blood and forgiveness been deposited in your heart? Has your heart been seasoned by the Saviour of the world? If you have never said yes to Jesus, I urge you to do it today. He Loves you so much that He died on a cross of torture. He is waiting for you with His arms open wide. Don’t reject the Love of Jesus!
