Be Thankful

"And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it." (Gen. 6:12-16 KJV)

God was so angry with the way that people were behaving that He destroyed the earth. Yet, even in the midst of His anger, He made sure that Noah and his family would be safe. What a Compassionate God we have!

As Thanksgiving Day approaches, we need to make sure that we devote most of the day to thanking God for His Protection and Provisions. I received an email today from someone who said that we should thank God every day. That is a true statement, but we have set apart this day for a special time of thanksgiving to God.

God not only provided a place of safety for Noah and his family and the animals, He told Noah how to build it so that it would be comfortable for them. We can take a lesson from Noah who believed God and obeyed Him. When God tells us something, then we need to listen, believe, and obey Him.
