Garden of Happiness

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14: 27 KJV)

When we were children in school, we were expected to get high grades and many times if we didn’t get them, we were scolded and punished. It is true that when we are in school we need to study as hard as possible so that we can learn. However, it sometimes makes us feel that we have to be perfect in everything that we do or there is something wrong with us.

The only perfect person who ever lived was Jesus. He never made mistakes or sinned. All of us make mistakes and sin, hopefully not on purpose. I have been trying to learn a software program and have not progressed as rapidly as I think I should be learning the program. So, I allowed myself to become discouraged today and then God reminded me of this verse. When we are facing a trial and can’t seem to conquer it, then we need to accept His peace.

One of my friends shared with me that she had made so many mistakes in her life that even though she was saved, she sometimes felt so guilty. This is one of the ways that satan tries to defeat us, by reminding us of our past sins and failures. If we have confessed our sins to Him and accepted His forgiveness, then they are under the Blood of Jesus. He will never hold them against us again or remind us of them

If you are hurting today and feel discouraged and defeated, accept the peace that Jesus gives us. It is a peace that the world can never give to us. Let Jesus deposit His peace in your heart.
