God's Furniture Polish

"But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7 KJV)

I have some kitchen chairs that don't look very good and my sister told me to get some Old English Furniture Polish and that would make them look pretty. We go to the beauty shop, the barber, get a manicure, get our face lifted, and all other things to try to improve our looks. Jesus is the only One who can make us beautiful on the inside.

I once saw a man who I thought was the most handsome man I had ever seen in my life, but then he started talking. The cursing and hatred that came out of this man's heart frightened me. It does not matter how we look on the outside; it matters to Jesus how we are on the inside. I am not saying that we should let our outward appearance become sloppy. If we concentrate more on how we look on the outside, rather than how we are on the inside, then that is wrong.

Have you been to Jesus and allowed Him to polish your heart? If not, then I urge you to let Jesus take away all the cursing, violence, and hatred in your heart. Let the Beauty of Jesus be evident in everything you say and do so that others will be drawn closer to Him.
