Hide It

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” (Ephesians 5: 11, 12 KJV)

There are people who have to hide their magazines when they have company because they are ashamed for others to know what they are reading. There are people who visit rooms and s thinking that will satisfy the longing in their hearts. I submit to you on the Authority of the Word of God that only Jesus can quench the longing in your heart.

We are to witness to people who are in darkness, but we are not to be close companions with them. The verse says to reprove them; it does not say to judge them. We are to pray for one another. Every one of us faces temptation. Even Jesus was tempted, but yet He never sinned, not one time!

When I made a heart commitment to Jesus, I had to make a choice between some people or Jesus. I chose Jesus because He is the One Who reached down into the garbage of my life and lifted me up out of the stench of my sins and my rotten attitude.

Jesus hates sin, but He doesn’t hate the sinner. You and I need to take lessons from Him. He forgives us when we falter and fail Him. He doesn’t condemn us; He encourages us to do better. The more that we fall in love with Jesus, the easier it is to withstand temptation.

If you are involved in something that you can’t do before your family and friends, stop it! You may think that nobody knows, but Jesus knows. He sees everything that we do and it breaks His Heart when we leave Him and turn to the world.
