"The Lord is good and does what is right, he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in what is right, teaching them his way. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness, all those who keep his covenant and obeys his decrees. For the honor of you name, Oh God, forgive my many, many sins." (Psalm 25:8-11)
There was an old song from the 70's "Going Round in Circles". The actor sang how is life is going in circles while he tries to find the answers. Media continually directs us on what to wear, eat, drive, and how to reach the utopia standard of life today. This alone can cause us to follow in the wrong direction and possibly hit a dead end.
Being the unique creatures that we are, we crave acceptance. We are always looking to others for approval and find it a bitter pill to swallow when criticism is offered. But is our acceptance compromising our values. Is the highway that we are following leading to destruction and despair? Are we turning onto the exit of self-gratification? Are we forsaking the desire to drive the correct route and know God?
Psalm 25 David asks God to show him the direct way to go. He desires for God's guidance, a road map for his life. Are we willing to seek God and His Word, our road map? Do we hunger for his guidance to show us the road signs and lead us too on the correct road of life?
Ask God to show His Road map to heaven, there is a wonderful rest stop along the way, His name is Jesus.
