Why Should You
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8 KJV)
Last year around Christmas, I told someone that I was going to buy gifts for my friends. She said, "Why? They don’t come to see you". Last night while sitting on the edge of the bathtub drying myself, I realized that I had not done anything for Jesus. I had not called upon Him, or even tried to find Him. Yet, He came to me, and pulled me out from under a bed in a mental hospital, and gave me His Love and Friendship.
The reason we should give gifts or do anything is because we love that person, not because of what he or she has done for us. We had not done anything for Jesus when He hung on that cruel Cross for us. Even now, we ignore Him most of the day. Sometimes, we only go to Him when we are in trouble and need help.
There are twenty four hours in a day. How many hours do we give to Jesus each day? I have to admit until January of this year, I might have given him a half hour a day. Once I fell in love with Jesus, things changed. When I realized Who He is, and how Wonderful He is, then I wanted to spend all day with Him.
How many hours are you giving Jesus each day? Remember, He came to us when we could not go to Him. You may be giving your tithes and offerings when you go to church, but are you giving him your time?
