Worth the Pain

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1,2 KJV)

I have been in bed most of the day with a bad cold and fever, and I really didn’t feel like getting up at all. However, I have made a commitment to Jesus to do a Daily Devotional if He will help me. It is worth a little pain to me to know that it makes Jesus happy when we praise Him.

Jesus knew that dying on the cross for us would not only make a way of salvation for us, it would also make His Father happy. I really think that is why even though Jesus suffered physical, emotional, and verbal pain that you and I will never be able to comprehend, that when He was on the cross that day, His Heart was happy because He knew that He was making His Father happy.

Have you made Jesus happy today? Have you done something and said something that would make His Heart to rejoice? We may not feel like doing something, but I’m sure Jesus didn’t feel like hanging on that cross for us. He did it out of Love for His Father and for us.

I urge all of us to be kinder and more patient with our family, friends, and loved ones. Always remember, when you are being kind to someone, you are being kind to Jesus.
