A Permanent Home

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In
my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I
go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
(John 14: 1 - 3 KJV)
I rarely have bad dreams but when I do, ninety percent of the time I dream about
having to sleep on the streets because I don’t have a home. Before I was saved,
I did sleep on the streets. The reason why I slept on the streets and didn’t
have a home was because I had refused to let Him come into my heart. He can’t
bless us if we are living in disobedience and rebellion.
Praise God that on August 14, 1980, I repented of my sins and asked Jesus to
forgive me for my sins. I invited Him into my heart to be my personal Saviour.
He is so compassionate, so gracious and so kind and loving. He forgave me for
all of my sins. I opened the door of my heart to Him and He came into my heart.
He had been knocking for many years but I had refused to let Him come in to my
heart. He has never left me since that day and He never will.
I wonder how many years He has been knocking at the door of your heart but you
have refused to let Him come in to be your personal Saviour. He not only knocks
on the door of our hearts for us to accept Him as our personal Saviour; He also
knocks at the door of our hearts and asks us to dedicate our lives to Him in
full time service.
I have a permanent home reserved for me in Heaven. I have made a reservation for
Heaven through the precious blood of Jesus which has been applied to my heart
for the forgiveness of my sins. My precious Saviour is not only the interior
decorator of my mansion; He is also the interior decorator of my heart. He has
removed the ugliness and darkness of sin from my heart and has replaced it with
the glorious light and beauty of His unconditional love and His precious atoning
blood. Thank God for the unconditional love of our precious Saviour!
Have you opened the door to your heart and let Him come in to be your personal
Saviour? If not, I urge you; I plead with you to say “yes” to Jesus before it is
too late. One day it will be too late for you to be saved. One day, our precious
Saviour is coming back for us and if you are not saved, you will be left behind.
How heartbreaking it would be for Jesus if you weren’t ready to meet Him! Don’t
break His heart. Open the door of your heart and let Him in even while you are
reading this devotion.
It may be that Jesus has been knocking at the door of your heart and asking you
to dedicate your life to Him in full time service. However, you have either
ignored Him or said no to Him. Will you answer the call of our precious Saviour
to serve Him full time or will you keep using excuses? There is no excuse not to
serve Jesus. Again, there is no valid reason not to serve the King of Kings and
Lord of Lords full time. Will you answer His call today and dedicate your life
to Him in full time service?
