A Stethoscope of Love

“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness
and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved
with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as
sheep having no shepherd.” (Matthew 9: 35, 36 KJV)
Doctors can listen to the heartbeats of their patients with their stethoscopes
but they can’t see the inside of their patient’s hearts like Jesus can. They
also can’t hear the broken hearted sobs in their patient’s hearts. Doctors can
prescribe medicine that may heal their patient’s bodies but they can’t prescribe
medicine for a broken heart and a broken home. Only our compassionate precious
and loving Saviour can heal our broken hearts and our broken homes.
As our great Physician listens with His stethoscope of love to the broken
hearted sobs in our hearts, His heart is filled with compassion for us. He heals
our broken hearts and dries our tears with His tender kisses. We give You
thanks, Heavenly Father, for sending Your beloved Son to us so that we have a
Saviour who applies His stethoscope of love to our hearts. Jesus, thank You for
kissing away the tears from our eyes and from our hearts. Indeed, You are worthy
to be praised and honored and adored. Amen.
