Are you Saying So

“O Give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for
ever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand
of the enemy.” (Psalm 107: 1, 2 KJV)
When your pastor announces that it is testimony time, do you stand up and give
your testimony? I think one of the things that really hurts Jesus and
discourages our pastors is when we don’t give our testimony during testimony
time. We don’t need to be professional speakers to give our testimonies. We
simply need to share from our hearts what God has done for us.
When we give our testimonies, our faces should radiate the joy of Jesus, not a
phony smile or artificial happiness we put on our faces to impress the pastor
and the other people in church. I’m reminded of something Joyce Land of
Heatherley says on one of her teaching tapes “This lady would get up during
testimony time and say “I’ve got the joy of the Lord in my heart”. Joyce said “I
used to think, way down lady, you’ve got the joy way down.”
When you give your testimony, does it come from your heart and is it sincere? Do
you just give your testimony because it is expected? If it doesn’t come from
your heart, it means nothing to God. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t want our lip
service; He wants our hearts. Are you thanking our Heavenly Father for all He
has done for you? Are you sharing what He has done for you? If not, you are
hurting Him and breaking His heart.
