A High That Lasts

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.” (Psalm 16:11 KJV)

There are a lot of people who are so lonely, discouraged and depressed that they turn to alcohol, drugs and sex to find happiness. They may experience a high from these things. However, it is only a temporary high. When the high wears off, they feel more discouraged, lonely and depressed than they did before.

I have good news for you. There is a high that lasts forever and it comes by being in the presence of Jesus. Our Scripture verse gives us this assurance. “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.” When we stay in the presence of Jesus, we have fullness of joy.

Some of you have been searching for happiness for years in the wrong places and with the wrong people. You will never find a lasting happiness in those places and with those people. You’ve tried everything else and it didn’t work. Give your heart and life to Jesus and stay in His presence. You will experience a high that will last forever.

Heavenly Father, I pray for the people who are hurting so much that they have been trying to find happiness and relief from their pain in the wrong places and with the wrong people. May they give their hearts and lives to Jesus and experience a high that will last forever. Amen.
