A Hurricane is Coming

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8 KJV)

Hurricane season starts in two months. We may or may not have a hurricane hit us. However, there are other kinds of hurricanes and they are hurricanes of life. If we have surrendered our lives in full time service to Jesus, there is no doubt that these hurricanes will hit us. Jesus tells us to be sober and vigilant because satan is seeking us to devour us.

I received an email from someone who told me “My day was going great when all of a sudden; everything that could go wrong did go wrong”. Have you ever had a day like that? I have had several days like that. It makes satan very angry when we are serving Jesus and he will attack us in every way possible to discourage and defeat us.

When we start to get discouraged, we need to realize that it is just satan trying to stop us from serving Jesus. We must not let that happen! It is worth being criticized and ridiculed if we are making Jesus happy. If ever someone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus. When He was here on earth, He was also ridiculed and criticized so He understands how much it hurts.

You might as well be prepared because if you are serving Jesus a hurricane of criticism, rejection and hatred is coming. There is only way you can continue serving Him in the midst of this vicious attack and that is to let Him fight your battles. Just keep doing what He has told you to do and He will take care of you and bring you through every attack victoriously. Thank You, Jesus, for helping us.
