He Heals our Broken Hearts

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” (Psalm
147: 3 KJV)
Doctors can perform open heart surgery but only Jesus can operate and heal our
emotions and feelings. For those of you who have been on my mailing list for a
while, you know that I was in mental hospitals off and on for almost forty
years. I had been raped, beaten and abused and I was afraid of everyone and
everything. During those long, terrifying, heartbreaking and devastating years,
no one told me that Jesus loves me.
The doctors had prescribed so much medicine for me trying to get me out of my
depression that I could barely function. Had they only told me that Jesus loves
me, I wouldn’t have been depressed so long or spent so much time in the
hospital. All the medicine in the world will not heal a broken heart. Only Jesus
can heal our broken hearts.
If you know people who are hurting, broken hearted and suicidal, tell them that
Jesus understands how they are feeling and that He loves them unconditionally.
However, they won’t believe that Jesus loves them unless they first see the love
of Jesus in your actions and hear Him in your kind, encouraging and
compassionate words.
You may be broken hearted today; Jesus understands how you are feeling. He
really cares about you and He loves you unconditionally. Run as fast as you can
into the open arms of Jesus and let Him comfort and encourage you as only He
can. He will take you out of the valley of despair and depression and set you on
the mountain tops of happiness and joy. Thank You, Jesus, for caring about us
and for loving us unconditionally.
