It is a Commandment

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have
loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are
my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:34, 35 KJV)
One of the definitions for command in Webster’s Dictionary is “to direct
authoritatively”. If ever someone has the authority to direct and command us to
do something, it is Jesus! He paid an expensive price for that right and that
authority when He was crucified for us and shed His precious blood for us on the
cruel cross of Calvary.
People are saying sarcastic and criticizing words to each other. We are breaking
each other’s hearts and we are disobeying the commandment that Jesus gave us
when He told us to love one another unconditionally. I think that we sometimes
forget that loving one another unconditionally is not an option, it is a
commandment.
We need to accept the fact that the violence in our country will never cease
until we start loving one another unconditionally. Just as a revival has to
start in every person’s heart, so the decision to love each other
unconditionally must start in every person’s heart. We blame satan for the
hatred in our hearts but he can’t make us do anything. All he can do is tempt
us.
We have a decision to make. We can either love each other unconditionally as
Jesus has commanded us to love one another or we can hate people. What is your
choice? We are either making Jesus happy or we are making satan happy. Are you
making satan happy or are you making Jesus happy? The choice is yours. Who do
you choose?
